Texans' demand for concealed handgun licenses rises
Mrs. Denman is one of more than 52,000 people in the state who have submitted an application for a first-time concealed handgun license or renewal since the beginning of the year, according to figures from the Texas Department of Public Safety. That is an almost 5 percent increase over the first six months of 2007.
Man, I wonder what it's like working for the Brady Campaign right now. The SCOTUS just passed a ruling that negates 80% of your arguments, you have to spend countless man hours scouring your blog and former press releases to send a large portion of it down the memory hole, and then to turn around and see that more people than ever are taking their safety into their own hands where it should be.
The sad and scary part is that, come November, all of this might be for naught. With Barack Don't Call Me Shirley Obama in the Oval Office (probably won't be able to refer to it as the 'white' house any more since that would be racist) and a veto proof majorities in Congress, I have a feeling the Constitution will be voted off the island, insofar as gun rights go.
