So, thanks to Instapundit linking to Say Uncle, we've gotten a lot of exposure to Cease Fire, PA and their hateful little board of directors member, Alex Riley.
I'd like to take this opportunity to ensure that I'm being very clear on what the facts are versus everything else.
It is a fact that Alex Riley (aka ATR & Culturologist) left fairly hateful comments here at my blog and elsewhere. It is a now "erased" fact that Alex also ran a blog called "ILoveMyDaughterMoreThanYouLoveYourGun" on which many of his posts were violent in nature. Alex has also erased several other blogs that indicate the type of character he is.
It is also a fact that NRAFOUREVER was a handle used to create a strawman to attack gun owners. GunsMakeUsSafe was a blog set up to discredit the gun community by making racist comments, rife with spelling mistakes, in the attempt to paint gun owners as inbred rednecks who like to kill dark skinned people. The same poster left horrific comments on YouTube as well (account now closed).
Both Alex and NRAFOUREVER posted from Lewisberg, PA. At one point, two comments left by both Alex and NRAFOUREVER indicated the same IP address. From his comments, Alex was not beneath ad hominem attacks and due to his complete inability to actually argue a point, I firmly believe that Alex & NRAFOUREVER were either the same person or at least in collusion. This is not 100% proof. It is only what I think is likely.
However, the link isn't important. What is important is that people read both Alex and NRAFOUREVER's screeds and see them for what they are. With Alex, we can see a very, very angry and violent individual who I think should not own a firearm. Alex strikes me as the kind of person who would settle a dispute with violence rather than logic and he projects that onto others. Hence his strong dislike of tools. He feels he couldn't control himself therefor we must not be able to control ourselves.
Alex is also extremely hypocritical. On his defunct blog, he accused gun owners as paranoid, seeing criminals behind every shadow and using guns as a way to protect themselves from the boogeyman. Alex sees pedophiles the same way and apparently practices martial arts to deal with them.
I am just WAITING for anybody like you to crawl out from under the rocks when my child is that age. Just WAITING. Train on the heavy bag, spar, and hit the weights four or five times a week in anticipation of that opportunity. You want to go to the biological and the Darwinian? How about the murderous instinct of parents to protect their offspring from predators like you? Watch out when you’re in the US. I’m not the only one. Not by a long shot. Watch out.

Now, I won't fault Alex for protecting his child. He is completely spot on about how lethal a parent will be when it comes to their children. But for all his posturing about gun owners being paranoid, he goes on to say he works out with the specific intent on stopping a pedophile? All his training and hard work can be overcome by a 90 pound crack addict with a .380.
Alex's views are well known. And now Cease Fire is going to be saddled with that baggage if they decide to keep him on board.
As for NRAFOUREVER, how pathetic is it when you can't even argue with real opponents and have to make up a stereotype to bash against? Unlike the anti gun groups, we prefer that they post their views. We don't need to fake web sites or make up quotes, they do a good enough job of destroying their credibility themselves. Sure we have complete idiots on our side, but you'll find that the serious gun bloggers will shun them faster than we shun our opponents.
The big thing to take away from all this is that the anti-rights groups and individuals have to sink way below to be able to try to counter us. They're not winning and have been loosing ground for years. The best thing they have to crow about was an ineffective "ban" on cosmetic features. But they're not done yet, and it's up to us to keep the pressure on them until groups like Cease Fire and The Brady Campaign are taken as seriously as groups like the Mutual UFO Network.
Of which a member of is also on the Cease Fire, PA board of directors.
Strange company they keep.
