Let me just say that 110 grain, .357, semi-jacketed hollow points pushed by 14+ grains of Blue Dot powder produces a fireball the size of Nantucket and the concussion not only causes the range master to see who the hell is shooting a rifle on the gun range, but forces small children to leave.
Seriously, there was a ~6 year old kid shooting with his dad and he left the range and just watched until I was done. There were also some little girls (probably 13 and 10) who went outside as well.
Now, the most surprising aspect of the whole Sound & Fury Campaign was that the kick was simply feather-light. The Dan Wesson is a sturdy enough pistol that it absorbs most of the recoil and the 110 grain bullet simply doesn't push back that much.
And it was damned accurate

Now for the bad news. Even starting at 10% under max charge (16 grains), I got several flattened primers. When I moved into the 15 grain range, almost all the primers flattened which tells me there's overpressure starting. So, I'm going to drop 20% and see if the primer issue goes away. Still should be loud enough to scare infants and toddlers.
I bet the expressions you got were similar to when you shoot the Mosin-Nagant next to someone plinking with his poodle-shooter.
