As we are constantly told, guns are dangerous items that cannot be entrusted to the common man. Too many people get hurt via firearms to allow unfettered access to them. We require background checks and restrictions for good cause. In doing so, we protect our country.

The same thing should go for journalists, authors, and newscasters. These people are supposed to be able to tell the truth with as little bias as possible. To get a story wrong puts misinformation out into the public. When the public is misinformed, poor decisions are made based on that misinformation causing irreparable harm to our society.

Take for instance the sheer number of misinformed idiots here who think that the term .50 caliber means "machine gun".

How are these people expected to make informed decisions when it comes time to vote if they can't even discern the difference between a bolt action and a fully automatic rifle? If someone calls for a ban on .50 cal, they'll assume it means machine gun and vote accordingly.

How can we continue this fine republic if our news reporters can't even get their facts straight? It's time to demand that restrictions be put on the First Amendment! Licensing and registration for speech!

For the children!!!!!
