Daughter Blogging , Range Time

The other day my oldest daughter was drawing, as she is wont to do. She was proud of her masterpiece (which was a bunch of concentric circles) and showed it to me, so I asked her what it was.

Targets. For me to take to the range.

Scary to who? My dad took me shooting for the first time when I was in single digits. I have a picture around somewhere with me and the single shot 22 rifle when I was about 8 at scout camp. Never understood people who are scared of a inanimate object. Seems odd.

One of my proudest moments as a parent was when my son came back from Scout camp with a piece of paper bearing concentric circles. He had put 10 .22 rounds into a single ragged hole, dead center, you could cover with a dime.
