Where are our elected officials? Where are our presidential wannabes? During the last presidential election cycle, the Democrats shamelessly pandered to the deer hunters of Pennsylvania and Northern Michigan. Gun control has rarely been mentioned during the interminable slew of debates in the run-up to the 2008 presidential election. It should be a signature issue.

They aren't talking about it because it's political suicide. It's like making booze illegal to stop DUI's or banning swimming pools to prevent drownings (which, by the way, kill more kids each year than guns). And most people know this and is why they don't vote for idiots who call for tighter gun control.
Face it, Laura, gun control didn't work in DC. It hasn't worked in California. It has never worked for the advantage of the people and never will.
