3 days.

To make sure I have enough time to cool off, in case I'm mad or something.

Then, I get to pick up this

My new Glock 29 10mm Auto. I originally was wanting a Sig 229 (with both .40 and .357 Sig barrels) but Sigs, as nice as they are, are pricey.

I decided on the 29 because I am so used to shooting .357 magnums that I've simply grown accustomed to massive rounds. Full load 10's can snap your wrist off if you're small of frame, but at 6'3" and ...ummm 200+ pounds...or so..., that's not something I'm worried about.

I tried the Glock 23 (.40 S&W) but it just wasn't as comfortable in my hands as the 29 as the 23 is slightly thinner. I like the .40 S&W round and the 10mm can be loaded to be practically identical anyway, but I'll probably stick with 180gr. loads since that seems to be the best of both worlds (both fast and large).

Now, to assuage my readers with a more touchy constitution, I am absolutely planning on never, ever, ever having to use this thing outside of the range. If a thug pulls a gun on me and asks for my wallet, he gets it. Nothing in there worth either of our lives.

But if push comes to shove, I've got 676 foot pounds of force at @1300 feet per second to defend myself with.
