I’ve got several dozen blogs in my RSS reader (Rss Bandit). Without an aggregator, there would be no way I could pay attention to the vast number of blogs out there. I even get my news and traffic reports through the damn thing.
The very first blog in my reader is none other than this one, Sharp as a Marble. I don’t do it out of vanity but utility. Well, OK….maybe 20% vanity, 80% utility…..50/50? No? Well, damn.
OK, let’s start over. My blog is at the top to stroke my own ego and a good side effect is that I can instantly tell if my RSS feed is hosed. Many times, people put odd characters in their titles or HTML markup and it breaks the rules of RSS feeds. By reading my own blog, I can ensure that others can stroke my go along with myself.
I’m just saying this because there are many blogs I read who always show up as big, red ! because of one thing or the other. And I wonder if these people actually read their own blogs through an RSS read or not.
