So the UN Bloggers are pissed that someone is concerned about the UN Oil-for-Food scandal and cannot understand why Roger Simon is so focused on it. Maybe it’s because the UN is corrupt as hell and needs to be exposed so that we can all get off the silly notion that any organization that includes Libya as chair on human rights probably is exactly what the world needs for peace.
Instead of refuting any claims made by Simon, the UNBloggers try to distract you with a list of things the UN is busy scamming the world into thinking they alone are responsible for. Don’t mind that UN troops rape those who they’re supposed to be protecting. Don’t give a second thought to the millions that could have been spent on saving Iraqi lives were squandered so Kofi could get a nice new penthouse in New York. Instead, watch this puffery as we sound all so important.

0% of Roger L. Simon's blog entries during April make reference to the following UN-related issues:
Tackling the threat of transnational organized crime
That would be the UN.
Shipping supplies to millions of Iraqi schoolchildren
Which wouldn’t have been possible had the US not invaded, thankyouverymuch.
Controlling the Marburg virus
My PC got that one last year. They should use the latest McAffe.
Building thousands of homes for tsunami victims
‘Cuz we showed up so quick and all that.
Partnering with the private sector to meet humanitarian needs
After you scrape off how much off the top?
Reducing child mortality rates
Capitalism. Works wonders, I tell you. Look how low the US’s rates are.
Rehabilitating Iraq's marshlands
Again, thanks to the US for making that puffery something you can boast about.
Eradicating polio
Did a good job here in the US on that too.
Rebuilding lives in Afghanistan
Starting to see a pattern here. Lessee…. Taliban = No Rebuilding. No Taliban = Lotsa Rebuilding. UN != No Taliban. US = No Taliban.
Fighting the global malaria epidemic
DDT. Done.
Curbing the world's most hazardous pollutants
I’m thinking they must be talking about taping Ted Kennedy’s mouth shut.
Improving global disaster and emergency response
You mean like actually showing up immediately after a tsunami or something instead of waiting several weeks and instead debating endlessly on what brand of condoms should be sent? Are are you talking about a quick reaction to condemning the actions in the Sudan as Genocide and acting appropriately?
Building a sustainable future
The less UN, the more money available to those who really need it. Kofi doesn’t need a new pair of $300 shoes. That, my friends is sustainable.
Try as they may, the UN is tarred by this scandal. The ‘facts’ page is as useless as tits on a nun. I hate the UN and cannot stand that any American taxpayer money is funneled into the fat bureaucrats' pockets that survive by sucking cash away from those who need it the most. The US doesn’t need the UN. When the tsunami hit, we opened up our pocketbooks and gave till it hurt. We had more men, women and cash on the ground before the UN had it’s first meeting to decide if it should do something.
When 9/11 hit us, how much aid did the UN pour in the we couldn’t have handled ourselves.
If the UN wants to meet and talk about things, fine. I’m all for a global chatroom where leaders can discuss things at length in an environment that is open and friendly. If the UN wants to be the relief center of the world, that’s fine too. But any organization that gives non-democratic countries voices in a democratic voting session is corrupt and useless.
Keep on ‘em Roger. Make it 50%!
