A while back I penned an article I titled “Theocrazy”. During the election season, lefties were running around with their hair on fire claiming W was pushing this country into a bona fide theocracy. I responded with my article. Some excerpts.

Which leads me to my main point. Which denomination shall W base the theocracy on? Baptist Methodist? Presbyterian? Seventh Day Adventist? The Holy Church of the Cross? Branch Davidians?

You see, the same problem I had finding a church that suited my particular point of view (and there still isn't one for me) is the same issue you'd have with implementing a theocracy in the US. While most Christian churches believe in the same basic premise, that Christ died for our sins, they can't agree on much more than that. Mormons do not recognize Jesus as the embodiment of God. Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the leader of the Christian faith. Baptists do not recognize each other in the liquor store.

So, how would you pass a theocracy if you cannot get most of the people to agree on even the most basic of tenets? Which flavor of faith would win? How could you convince the Southern Baptist that the Presbyterians don't want to outlaw booze and how can you get the Catholics to agree to the Methodists' demands of All-You-Can-Eat steak on Fridays?

And now on many blogs I read, including some of them on my blogroll to the right, are yammering on about the impending theocracy that’s taking over our government.

Here’s a tip for each blogger that uses that word – Have a tall cup of STFU and relax. It ain’t gonna happen. Even if W pushed for {insert particular flavor of God here}today, what makes you think he’ll be in power long enough to see it come to fruition?

For those of you who think ‘Christians’ are united in every possible facet of politics to make them easily turned towards the Republicans, just look at the rift between us on the whole Schiavo case.

So, get your little right-wing panties out of a wad over this. You’re beginning to sound like the moonbats on the left.
