Disciplined? What do you bet this involved stern language? When I was in kindergarten, if I acted up I got my ass paddled. And then my father would return the favor later, twofold. I remember many times thinking "I better not do this".
I'm all for corporal punishment. For those who say it doesn't work, this little girl is proof that whatever the system is attempting now with limp-wristed techniques of 'talking' and 'time out' isn't working quite so good. Several people I know who are / were teachers tell me about how their hands are tied when it comes to discipline.
I feel sorry for the little girl. From the rest of the story it definitely would appear that her family doesn't give a rat's ass about her. Without discipline (and I don't mean spankings. I mean a structured, moral environment) this little girl will be robbed of the chance to make something of herself.
