And I've got pictures to prove it!
That was the first bottle from my second batch of beer, a clone of Buena Noche from the makers of Dos Equis. Being that I've never actually had Buena Noche, I cannot tell you how close it came, but it was a daaaaamn fine beer nonetheless.
The massive foaming head is a result of there being a wee bit too much food left over for the yeast when I bottled. I probably should have racked the beer to a secondary fermenter or at least let it sit in the primary for a few more days. The extra proteins in the beer allowed it to foam up a lot more as well as made the beer cloudy. However, this did not affect the taste at all.
It is maltier than my IPA but still good and bitter which is how I like beer. The aroma is very hoppy but thankfully not flowery. Very, very smooth with n noticeable after taste. Good alcoholic kick (this one is around 6.3% ABV) but not overpowering.
Other bottles didn't produce as heavy of a head, but that's probably because I took a little more care in pouring them. I've got the lower shelf of the fridge stocked and ready to go!
Next up for brewing - A strawberry wheat.
