For my birthday the in-laws gave me $40 in Best Buy gift cards. W00T! The hardest thing was deciding what I wanted. It's a rare occasion that I actually go there to buy something that I'm not in dire need for, so it was a nice change of pace.

I looked at X-box games, but I prefer to rent them because many games can be solved in less than a week and $50 is too much for a weeks worth of entertainment. So, I looked at some of the newer PC games and to my dismay, my 1.1Ghz Athlon Thunderbird is woefully underpowered to run most of the new stuff.

So, in my dismay I was heading over to the computer hardware section to possibly get some new headphones when lo and behold I see Myst IV - Revelation. Now you have to understand, I've been a Myst fanatic since 1994 when it came out. I've read the books and waited breathlessly for Riven and Exile to emerge. Imagine my surprise when I saw there are 2 new Myst collections (Revelation and Ubu). I snatched up Revelation so fast the shrink wrap practically flew off. At least this was a game my system can handle.

So, if you're wondering where the hell I am lately, it's probably huddled in front of my computer walking through Tomahna, Spire, and Haven trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

See you next year.
