Just an update on my 'Outed Republican' situation at work.
First off, my boss isn't an asshole. Let's clear one thing up real quick because I think a lot of people, judging by their comments here and abroad, automatically assume people who suffer B.D.S. automatically are complete wastes of oxygen, and that's not the case.
I actually like my boss. I like most of the people I work with. Sans politics, they're mostly good people whom I'd have no problem with going out for a beer after work or getting together on the weekend to consume copious quantities of hamburgers and Doritos.
What's even scarier is that we all agree on a majority of issues, political and business related. Most of our political disagreements are on how to take care of them.
To me, it seems like most of the people I run into have their political party chosen for them at a young age. Politically active parents automatically fill their childrens' heads with their own political ideas and that shapes the way the kid grows up.
It seems like those who were raised Democrats had it plugged in their heads early in life that Republicans were nothing more than money-grubbing assholes who have no compassion and are only out to kill foriegners and make money
My parents were never politically active. I didn't know the difference between any of the parties even up to 1990. Instead of being preset to any particular political bent, I made up my own mind on what was logical for the government to do and how I would vote. I wasn't raised a Republican, nor have I ever made the decision to follow the GOP. My particular views just were, and the Republican party best suited them.
Too bad the Republican Party doesn't actually follow their own doctrine. Bastards.
After this election, I'm switching to a registered Independent.
