A coach walks into the locker room at half time, beet red and furious. He proceeds to shout at the team."What do you think you are doing out there? We are not blocking, we are not protecting the quarterback, and we sure as hell aren't running the plays right! I haven't seen anyone following their route the entire game. Is this the best you can do? Is this all you've got?"A player timidly raises his hand in the back. "Coach, we're up 31 to 6, aren't we?"The coach scowls and says "It's thinking like that that loses games".

I don't put much stock in polls. The only poll that matters to me is the big one on November 2nd where the will of the people is cast at the ballot box. And to me, it's funny as hell how many of those on the right always poo-poo polls yet now, as they show Bush with a big lead, are quoting them like gospel. This is not to say every right leaning person, but the comments on posts back when Kerry had a bit of a lead were often dismissal of poll findings.
The game ain't over. It ain't even halftime. Don't let the polls lull you into a false sense of security (or panic if you're on the Kerry side). The reporting method of any of these polls should always be looked at as having a margin of error +/- 100%. Now, I realize that there is a trend that can be seen from the polls, but don't quote a 13 point lead as the final score. These polls flip flop so fast Kerry is jealous.
